THE LAST MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL FOR THE CURRENT YEAR WAS HELD AT THE ANAS INSTITUTE OF GEOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS

The last meeting of the Scientific Council for the current year was held at the ANAS IGG.

Deputy Director in science, corresponding member of ANAS Dadash Huseynov opened a meeting. D. Huseynov acquainted the participants with the meeting review.

Further the close-out reports on research completed in 2018 were discussed.

The reports of ScD in Geology Vagif Mammadov “Geoecological assessment of the radio-geochemical condition of the river basins of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Part II: the territory of the south part of the Greater Caucasus (2017-2018)”, ScD on Earth sciences Gulam Babayev “Seismic probabilistic risk assessment and space-time analysis of earthquakes, occurred in the southern part of the Greater Caucasus (within Azerbaijan) (2017-2018)”, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy Avaz Salamov “Study of mud volcanoes craters according to electrical data (on the example of the Shamakhi-Gobustan region) (2017-2018)” were heard.

Thereafter the individual education plan for 2018-2019 academic year of the master’s degree, PhD in Earth sciences Saadat Aleskerova, academician Akber Feyzullaev and PhD in Engineering sciences Dilgush Mirzoyeva reports on the dissertation council activities, report on the Council of young scientists and specialists activities, as well as a report on the VII International Conference, made by PhD in Geology and Mineralogy Orkhan Abbasov, were heard at the Scientific Council.

The participation of the Institutes employees in the competition for vacant posts was also discussed, the dissertation topics of BSU masters students, working in the IGG were approved, and various current tasks were discussed.
